In China, "cosplay" is not a new word but it has taken some time to gain the traction that we see in other countries. Take the Tainjin Cultural Fair for example, 2013 is the first year they hold the Manshen Cup, A cosplay contest held to attract cosplayers and those that are new to cosplaying.
The Tianjin Binhai cultural and creative industry fair is held in the Northern part of China from August 29 to September 2. This fair features a robot show, comic signings, calligraphy exhibitions and a whole lot more.

We always like to see the positive side of things. We think that having cosplay in a cultural fair gives people lets people see that cosplaying has indeed become part of ones culture, while at the same time giving us the chance to tear down cultural barriers through a cosplay community. we dont have to understand each other to know that we both like dress up as goku.
